Standing with God

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    Thank you for the readings: God stands with us, with Him let us Stand, in the Wed, June 26, Testimony meeting. And thank you for all the testimonies bearing witness to this standing!

    Recalling an early demonstration of the truth in her life, a member told of participating in a relay race when in the 1st or 2nd grade. She asked her mother for help because she wanted to do well for her team, but didn’t seem physically able. She ended up successfully finishing first in the race. She asked her mother later how she worked, and was told, she worked for her peace. This went right along with a Forum comment that was submitted in last week’s Lesson, when Jesus stilled the waves with, “Peace, be still.” The writer quoted from “God is Individual Consciousness” by Bicknell Young, saying that Jesus was addressing “…the universal belief of a disturbed thought, to the universal belief of a mind apart from God; to the universal belief of inharmonious inner and outer conditions, he was declaring: ‘PEACE, BE STILL!’”

    I am very grateful for all the practical ways we are shown to turn to God, Mind, for our answers; and to see our oneness with Him, Who governs the universe harmoniously.
