Thanks for the Treatment for Everyday

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    Several months ago, a helpful practitioner from Plainfield made a suggestion that I do the Treatment for Every Day. So every morning, I would read it out loud before meditation and prayer work. I also added Mrs. Eddy’s suggestion in Miscellany – Take Notice (p.237). “Give daily attention to p.442, line 30: “Christian Scientists, be a law to yourselves that mental malpractice cannot harm you either when asleep or when awake.”

    As a result of this daily practice over the spring, last week I was surprised to find myself shouting out in a bad dream, “There is no power but God that can act! There is no power but God that can act! My whole body shook me awake as I affirmed this Truth. And like in a dream, when I begin to return from sleep, those words became incoherent, but I remembered the truth. There is no power but God that can act! I don’t usually have negative dreams, and don’t recall what was happening in this one, only that strong defense that had become thankfully embedded in my consciousness by doing the Treatment for Every day. It had built a strong foundation.
