The Kingdom of Heaven

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

I am very grateful for the Bible lesson this week. I have been reading Dorothy Rieke’s “Immortality brought to Light” and this week’s lesson connected several dots for me.

The Kingdom of Heaven is where Christ reigns. Erroneous ideas of sin, disease and death are not natural there and should not need to be seen as inevitable. Jesus corrected these false ideas because they no place in his Father’s kingdom. The Kingdom of Heaven is here is right now, not later after some “transition”

John saw a new heaven and new earth with no more sea i.e. separation. The lord’s Prayer states” Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” Omnipresent God never left heaven for earth. In John’s vision The Kingdom of Heaven is here not some at some distant location. Sin, sickness and disease and the trappings of the material world simply cannot exist there.

Excellent food for thought, what a great way to start the week!
