The perfect law of liberty

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    Responsive Reading: James 1
    25. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

That phrase — the perfect law of liberty — made me check the 1828 Webster’s to find that liberty is defined in part as “Freedom from restraint.” With all I’ve learned here about Christian Science, it is clear that as I am learning to truly working in the one Mind, I am free of the restraint of error. The more I have found myself unlimited in that way, the more I have seen what “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26) means. That wonderful freedom brings only good because that is all that can ever be possible in God’s creation, the only creation.

What an immense blessing Christian Science is! Thank you!
