Thank you very much for the readings on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, “Ours is the Risen Christ.” Such a valuable lesson that tells us that it is the belief of mind in matter that keeps us from the spiritual resurrection. And here in this Independent Christian Science church it is stressed to have, as St. Paul said, the mind of Christ. We receive so many treasures to work with in the Sunday Roundtables, to be persistent in our work, to look to Cause not effect, to strive to see as God sees — which is only good. In this seeing, moment by moment, and rising higher with each realization of the truth, the erroneous picture disappears.
It is here on this church website that are found the many writings and experiences of the early workers that give us a boost in our own work. On the church website, there are notes from the 1923 Class of Joseph Mann; he became a practitioner and teacher, after a remarkable healing of being accidentally shot in the heart. After receiving a death sentence by 4 renowned doctors, he was healed by a Christian Scientist, and back to normal every-day life after only three days. He said in this class, telling about a little boy who had been given up by the doctors, and was in very bad shape, that he completely turned from the material sense picture, and the little fellow thrived. The Love of Christ heals.
And in the March 19 Unity Watch (from Watches, Prayers, and Arguments, given by Mary Baker Eddy), it says in part:
“I rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike God. I am spiritual; I feel,
I know, that I am one with Christ in God, who hath all dominion.
There is no sin or error, to mesmerize me into seeing or feeling a body.”
I know this to be true, as it has been proven over the years through my own work, or with the help of a Christian Science practitioner. Praise God that “Ours is the Risen Christ”!
