The very hairs of your head are all numbered.

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10

Jesus was preparing his students for going out into the world and reassured them that God was watching over them carefully. I am seeing this trust comes from the living of the First Commandment and the love Mary Magdalene expressed toward Christ Jesus, an active trust. Recently from an assignment’ “The highest form of prayer, or Christian Science treatment is a process of listening to and hearing God’s voice in your heart, bearing witness to the perfection of all. This mental attitude which heals instantaneously can only take place in your consciousness as you realize God’s closeness and love for you, as you truly recognize that your hairs are all numbered by the Father.” from No Big Power Veto by Herbert Reike

On a similar note I came across this a few days ago, “What is our attitude towards these latter days? Surely not one of fear, and anxiety and confusion. No. Jesus’ admonition to us was, that we ascend upon our housetop, meaning an altitude of understanding, and not come down. He said in connection with this prophecy, ‘In your patience possess ye your souls,’ and ‘There shall not an hair of your head perish.’ Jesus’ promise for these troublous times was, ‘Then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud of great glory.’ He also left for us the scientific admonition, ‘And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads (understanding), for your redemption draweth nigh.’ Yes, we have the unfailing assurance of rest and deliverance from what seems to be upheaval and disaster.” From Addresses by Martha Wilcox
