The Word

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Isaiah 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

    11. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.Isaiah

The Word is a fulfilled purpose for mankind and Bicknell Young states in his article “Church” , “The Word was with God and the Word was God. You are the Word of God. This is the Word of God, repeated after Him, and it is His voice.”
I remember the first time I read this and go back to it often. Plainfield Church, Independent is truly God’s Word going forth to heal and bless. What struck me is that we individually are the Word carried out to share God and His love for us no matter where we happen to be. I am learning that this can be done silently as well as verbally and often it seems better to just be quiet and “think-out” with love.
