“Time-tables of birth and death”

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“Time-tables of birth and death are so many conspiracies against manhood and womanhood.” (S&H 246:18-20)

“Time-table” – a chart, schedule or plan showing the arrival and departure of something, or when things should happen.
“Conspiracy” – a plot to falsely and maliciously indict or convict an innocent person.

Some human timetables are birthdays, astrology and horoscopes; beliefs of life expectancy and heredity; seasonal beliefs, such as cold or flu season, hurricane season, hay fever season, Lenten season, etc. These “timetables” that appear so innocent on the surface would all maliciously and falsely plot against our divine right of innocence, freedom, and purity as God’s idea. Thank God for Mary Baker Eddy for calling a “spade a spade” and waking us up to these conspiracies. Believing in a “timetable” is the conspiracy — God’s good plan is the only chart of life.
