Tossed with tempest?

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted…” (Isaiah) Have you ever had a night like that? Tossing and turning – nothing seems to quiet thought? These verses from Isaiah are a perfect comfort and address all the unruliness that appears to be flying around.
    1. Your home (windows of agates and gates of carbuncles, borders of pleasant stones!)
    2. Your children (all your children shall be taught of the Lord – and great shall be the peace of thy children!)
    3. Your work (you will be established in righteousness!)
    4. Oppression –( oppressive people, oppressive thoughts, shall be far from you!)
    5. Fear and terror (it shall not come near thee!)
What wonderful promises and remember as we love and obey God – His promises are kept! Time to focus on the “enduring, the good, and the true,” (S&H) and have a good night’s rest.

Thanks for this timely post! I was having trouble getting to sleep when an angel thought prompted me to get up and go to the computer. Our A/C is on the fritz, but the house is cool. So when I read about tossing and turning…I had a good laugh. Seems I’m at the right place at the right time. Now, with deep gratitude that all things work together for good, I will be ready for a good night’s rest with this wonderful remedy in mind.
