Trust in the LORD, and do good

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    2. Psalm 37
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

I am very grateful for The Dixon Letter, and “Ways That Are Vain” by Mrs. Eddy being made available at this church, and for their importance being stressed during the Roundtables. Before Plainfield, I had much fear about the state of the world, to the point that I couldn’t watch any news without feeling awful and helpless.

Christian Science and this church has given me purpose; and with practitioner support, these articles — and all we have here! — I now feel up to the task ahead, instead of bulldozed by it.

In “Ways That Are Vain,” Mrs. Eddy wrote:
“Because this age is cursed with one rancorous and lurking foe to human weal, those who are the truest friends of mankind, and conscientious in their desire to do right and to live pure and Christian lives, should be more zealous to do good, more watchful and vigilant. Then they will be proportionately successful and bring out glorious results.”

It is always encouraging to see more of the connection between the Bible and the works of Mary Baker Eddy, and in turn the direct correlation between Christian Science and the work that is being done in Plainfield. What a constant blessing this church is! Thank you!
