Who do we let govern us?

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    S&H Citation 5. “So physical sense, not discerning the true happiness of being, places it on a false basis. Science will correct the discord, and teach us life’s sweeter harmonies.
    Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul. Higher enjoyments alone can satisfy the cravings of immortal man.”

    S&H Citation 6. “let no mortal interfere with God’s government by thrusting in the laws of erring, human concepts.
    The higher nature of man is not governed by the lower; if it were, the order of wisdom would be reversed. Our false views of life hide eternal harmony, and produce the ills of which we complain. Because mortals believe in material laws and reject the Science of Mind, this does not make materiality first and the superior law of Soul last.”

    This lesson clearly shows the problem; human forms of government and the solution; God’s government. It stems from the false worship of all things material which easily can turn into idolatry of those who have all things material. This is why the Children of Israel originally forsook the government by their prophets (Samuel) for a material king (Saul) such as those tribes surrounding them had.

    I thank God for Plainfield’s Watch system and teachings to bring mankind back under the Government of God!
