Wrestling with an Angel

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you for the inspirational Bible Lesson on Soul. I often think of Jacob when going through a fearful trial, especially at night, sweating and worried, I recall his agonizing battle for the light and how he clung to the truth not letting go until he had accepted his true identity. No longer little Jacob, he was now Israel. Christian Science has helped me to see that I’m not a helpless personal self separated from my Creator. I am invincible, One Mind with All that Is.

Psalm 103 reminds me that God has already given me everything–all his benefits: Forgiven all my sins. Healed all my infirmities. Redeemed by life from destruction. Crowned me with lovingkindness and tender mercies. Satisfied my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed like the eagles.

The test/struggle is to accept all the wonderful things God has already done in GRATITUDE.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all of his benefits:” (Psalm 103 2:5)
