A new heart I will give you

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel) Sometimes because of the harshness of the day we can allow our hearts to become hardened. We think this will protect us from future hurts and difficulties, but of course it never does. This beautiful promise from God in the Biblical chapter of Ezekiel assures us He will take away this false mortal sense of things and give us a heart of love and compassion – the infinite heart of Love. God’s promise is not one of a temporary bandage, but one of complete renewal and transformation. What a wonderful treatment for any heart ailment! A favorite hymn of mine is #278 and the last verse reads, “Healed is thy hardness, His love hath dissolved it, Full is the promise, the blessing how kind; So shall His tenderness teach thee compassion, So all the merciful, mercy shall find.”
