And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen…

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Ezekiel 34 has such beautiful passages about God caring for His sheep: “I will both search my sheep, and seek them out….And I will… gather them from the countries… I will feed my flock…And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.”

This is such a beautiful lesson in illustrating our true Parent, our Father-Mother, God. So many people seem to come from broken homes, or live alone, or feel a sense of loss, my human family being no exception. And the world would seem to be a tough place filled with danger around every corner, a “dog-eat-dog” world, and at one time I felt like “prey to the heathen” not knowing how to protect myself from difficult situations, even with Science. But reading this lesson, I feel like one of the sheep that came back to the fold, as God brought me to Plainfield, where I learned the true Science and how to be obedient. I found the sense of security and safety I could not feel without being set straight–and I am grateful.

This lesson is a beautiful treatment for the whole world, illustrating the true sense of family, and the truth about every one of God’s precious children. Thank you to the lesson writer!
