Bible Study April 9, 2022

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Many thanks for the April 9, 2022 Bible Study! And for the question to discuss the Blessing (Rev. 19:9) “Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.”

    Matthew Henry’s Bible Commentary says,
“The marriage-feast…is declared to be such as would make all those happy who were called
to it, so called as to accept the invitation, a feast made up of the promises of the gospel, the
true sayings of God. These promises, opened, applied, sealed, and earnested by the Spirit
of God, in holy eucharistical ordinances, are the marriage-feast; and the whole collective
body of all those who partake of this feast is the bride, the Lamb’s wife; they eat into one
body, and drink into one Spirit, and are not mere spectators or guests, but coalesce into the
espoused party, the mystical body of Christ.”
As was mentioned in the Bible Study: our Oneness with God, Principle and idea.

Also, thanks to Thomas for his referring us to Irving Tomlinson’s book, Revelation of Saint John An Open Book, where (on page 231) Rev. Tomlinson refers us, (Revelation 19:7) to the marriage of the Lamb in Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, page 575:
“‘Come hither! Arise from your false consciousness into the true sense of Love, and behold
the Lamb’s wife, — Love wedded to its own spiritual idea.’ Then cometh the marriage feast,
for this revelation will destroy forever the physical plagues imposed by material sense.”

Thanks for these questions, the research, and the better understanding they bring! And to learn and put into practice more, in this ongoing study!

Thank you to Thomas and all the other participants in the Bible study this past Saturday ( The Spirit of Jezebel). It was such a helpful and informative discussion. It is beautiful how a sacred book, the Bible , written thousands of years ago is still applicable to our current life issues. It is a perfect example of our eternal life with God. I love how everyone explains things in such a simple way and it is so useful for our every day lives.
I especially love the quote from G.Singleterry “Thank God every day for the privilege of life and being His image and likeness.”
