control your thinking

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“When we fully understand our relation to the Divine, we can have no other Mind but His, — no other Love, wisdom, or Truth, no other sense of Life, and no consciousness of the existence of matter or error.’

This week I came across the article Consecration by Herbert Eustace. In it he writes about the importance of perseverance in and the practice of controlling our thinking. When we commune with God we must “hold thought steadfastly”(Mary Baker Eddy) instead of having our thoughts run away or fly off in every direction. He writes of the necessity of keeping thought “filled with Truth and Love” (Mary Baker Eddy) which keeps us alert, active and ready to work for God.

I am grateful for all that is taught here to help us discipline our thoughts so that we can be a healing influence in our world as promised all through our Bible lesson on Mind this week. I am learning of our God given dominion in even the minutest details of our lives. I appreciate now the little steps each day to prove God’s presence.
