Enoch

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” (Genesis 5:24). From a purely superficial standpoint this sounded so easy and delightful to me. As I thought more about it I knew I would be unable at my present level of spiritual growth to even enjoy or appreciate the spiritual atmosphere Enoch was surely lifted to. As Mrs. Eddy states, “Universal salvation rests on progression and probation, and is unattainable without them.” (Science and Health) So much of this lesson so well addresses this necessity. Thanks for another very helpful Lesson Sermon.

I too appreciate Enoch and how he “walked with God”. To please only God and do right by mankind as God directs … not with grandma mind.
Today during rough spots I would just say ,”Enoch” to myself.

By pleasing God and doing right we gain a little more understanding each day. That patient and consistent attaining of the Truth would lead to the full appreciation of what we are to understand.
