Extreme weather

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

This extreme weather is a ploy of the devil-mortal mind. It is getting the world upset by the weather and forgetting the meaning of Christmas. People are rushing around to get errands done. Where is God in that? People are focusing on the weather and fearing it. Where is God in that? God governs the weather, no extremes. This is an attack on the Christ. God sent His blessed son to bring us Christianity and we should be protecting it that mortal mind cannot stop anyone from finding the Christ. This is a holy season. Handle the weather and then dwell in the secret place of the Most High. Our praise for the Christ will annihilate any false beliefs, handle the weather and all will be blessed by the gratitude to God and open the way for them to find Christian Science.

Thank you for this timely post.

I was reminded of something I read in “Memoirs of Mary Baker Eddy”, by Adam Dickey. In the chapter “General Quarters at Home” is a statement by Mrs. Eddy which I would like to share:- “A Christian Scientist has no business attempting to control or govern the weather any more than he has a right to attempt to control or govern sickness, but he does know, and must know, that God governs the weather and no other influence can be brought to bear upon it. When we destroy mortal mind’s belief that it is a creator, and that it produces all sorts of weather, good as well as bad, we shall then realize God’s perfect weather and be the recipients of His bounty in that respect. God’s weather is always right.”

Thank you, Plainfield, for the amazing website that offers so much for our learning and application of the laws of Christian Science.
