Faith Essential

The Forum is dedicated to each week's lesson, and may be used to post questions, comments, and constructive replies that strive to uncover the inspired meaning of the text. The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible; make two short postings of the long posts or send the lengthy ones for publication in our Magazine or Newsletter. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Many times Christ Jesus commented pleasingly about peoples faith and said these:

Matt 9:22 “Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.”
Luke 17:19 “And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”
Luke 18:42 “Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.”
Matt 8:8 “Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel,” to the centurion’s marvelous show of faith.

These incidents all prove the admirable quality of faith. Even when people were healed who appeared to have no faith , somewhere in their hearts they must have trusted that “something” powerful could help them. Looking back it makes me wonder how important it was to get over my fears or to at least know that even if fearful, I could accept that the fear was powerless and accept that God has all power, the only power!

Interesting how we do not want to be doubted by anyone, and yet we keep doubting God’s work, even after He has proven so many times His constant care for us. Worth questioning this evil mesmerizer’s reality the next time it shows up.

    Thank you!
