Gospel of healing

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

    “The primitive custom of taking no thought about food left the stomach and bowels free to act in obedience to nature, and gave the gospel a chance to be seen in its glorious effects upon the body.” Science and Health p. 176

    Gospel (1828 Webster’s):
    “The life, actions, and doctrines of Jesus Christ; It is called the gospel of Christ. It is called the gospel of salvation. God’s word.”

    Mrs. Eddy has written nearly a hundred passages around the word “gospel” in Science and Health and Prose Works.
    She writes in Science and Health, “It is his (Jesus’) theology in this book (Science and Health) and the spiritual meaning of this theology, which heals the sick and causes the wicked to “forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts.” Science and Health p. 176

    Mrs. Eddy refers to the “gospel of healing.” How blessed we are to have in this church, a pure Bible Study and clear teachings of Mrs. Eddy writings so that we can live, feel, and share the “gospel” (Christ’s Christianity), that is here to heal all the world of sin, sickness and death.
