……In Me Is Thy Help

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

This verse is so significant, especially when something (habit, false appetite) seems impossible; the whole verse reads:
Hosea 13:9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
It’s interesting that despite such merciful promises in the Bible, the myth of condemnation seems more prevalent.
As we read in Science and Health, p. 253:19 If you believe in and practise wrong knowingly, you can at once change your course and do right.
Thank God for Christian Science, it’s indeed what is ready and can save mankind!

This verse sounds so obvious but to think that we can go on suffering at times or feel distressed for periods shows we do not use all that we have been given nor do we trust or obey enough.
If the All-knowing, All-seeing, All-wise and All-loving is our Father, then we can turn to Him for ANY HELP, or even turn to HIM for direction as to what help we may need; and with certainty expect sound direction, no matter where and when.
This blessed assurance is our strength for as the hymn 195 says…..” I lean on thee, in weakness I am strong.”
