Love Is The Light, There Is No Night There

The Forum is dedicated to each week's lesson, and may be used to post questions, comments, and constructive replies that strive to uncover the inspired meaning of the text. The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible; make two short postings of the long posts or send the lengthy ones for publication in our Magazine or Newsletter. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“This city of our God has no need of sun or satellite, for Love is the light of it, and divine Mind is its own interpreter. All who are saved must walk in this light.” Science and Health, p. 577

Thanks to the Lesson writer! This citation is heartwarming, inspiringly, instructive and encouraging. When we live Love we cannot be in the darkness/night of false beliefs and fear! Thinking of what Love includes: kindness, patience, generosity, humility, sincerity, courtesy, good temper, unselfishness, guilelessness, compassion, tenderness etc. it is a surety that I cannot be in darkness when such qualities fill my consciousness and are expressed in my experience. It is “Love, that inspires, illumines, designates and leads the way.” SH, p. 454. We are saved when we learn even the smallest Truth about God’s Allness, His nature and what it teaches us about man’s true being. I never want to lose my way again, back into the treacherous path of fear, anguish, suffering! Thank God for the inspired direction “to walk in this light” of Love!
