Parable of the ten virgins

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

This week’s parable of the wise and foolish virgins illustrates far more than appears at a first reading. The Christian Science Spiritual Interpretation of this parable by Stamp and Moss brings out the higher lessons in this parable. As the article says of the foolish virgins, “If they succumb to the suggestion that they must go away and consecrate their life to the spiritual for a period of time until their lamps are filled with the oil of gladness and inspiration, then they miss the boat. The remedy therefore does not lie in believing that they are the source of the light and inspiration and that their negligence can consequently affect the issue. They have it in their power to correct that suggestion and to realize that Mind is always present and always expressing itself through them without any need of premeditated reasoning….”if those called the foolish virgins became aware enough to see where wisdom originates and to admit that they were the expression of wisdom, then they would have a more real encounter with the joy of accomplishment symbolized by the bridegroom.” To read the complete article about this parable click on this link: https://mbeinstitute.org/ap/author/stamp-maas/parables/auth-stamp-maas-parable-19-matt-25-v01-the-wise-and-foolish-virgins-vol-11-2.pdf
