Seek the spiritual status of man.

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

“Learn this, O mortal, and earnestly seek the spiritual status of man, which is outside of all material selfhood.” Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, page 427

In the marginal heading next to the above line Mrs. Eddy wrote, “Imperishable identity.” The line comes from the paragraph from, “Question. — What is man?” In this same paragraph there are many powerful statements of God’s “law”. Putting this in the lesson made me really study and appreciate the familiar paragraph with new eyes. Thank you lesson writer.

“Status: The condition of a person or thing in the eyes of the law.” Webster’s Online Dictionary

“… all that means primary law, all that means divine law, all that means divine provision for you, means for you life, it means health for you, it means harmony, it means the overcoming of evil. It means dominion over all that would beset you, and torment or molest you or hurt you. There is no law against you.” There is No Law Against You From Lectures and Articles by Edward Kimball
