self examination

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

The ever recurring question “Adam, where art thou?” shows the necessity for honest self examination. The claim of mortal mind is that it avoids the issue because of fear and shame. The release from it is the great truth that God is the only mind, so to claim this one Mind as ours, and as the only genuine mind, is to welcome the search light of truth, which is quite a healthy exercise, and also a safety from the danger of avoiding that which needs to be seen and addressed. There is everything to gain by doing this, and the only thing that can be lost is lurking sin, and the loss of that is quite liberating.
