Strength and Sweetness

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you for all the wonderful articles that are posted on our home webpage carousel. I appreciate how long they are left up so one can go back and reread them but I also greatly appreciate how often they are changed. It is truly a commitment of love to prepare and share these excerpts for this purpose. The one on Strength and Sweetness was interesting to me. It reminded me of Mrs. Eddy’s admonition to go forth in life “with a charity broad enough to cover the whole world’s evil, and sweet enough to neutralize what is bitter in it.”

I looked up sweetness in the 1828 Webster’s dictionary and it said- Softness; mildness; amiableness; as sweetness of temper.
