The Awakening

The Forum is dedicated to each week's lesson, and may be used to post questions, comments, and constructive replies that strive to uncover the inspired meaning of the text. The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible; make two short postings of the long posts or send the lengthy ones for publication in our Magazine or Newsletter. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Most of mankind is asleep and yes asleep to the falsity of evil’s so called power. What we see (with our eyes) would have us believe that evil (sin, sickness, death) are real and health, holiness, and immortality unreal.

This is where honoring Jesus as a person is dangerous, because it leaves out the most important part of what His mission presented. It diminishes faith in Christ as the ever-present Principle which is forever with men. It also promotes the lie that Jesus as a person performed those “miracles” was a saviour of only part of humanity. No one had a picture of Jesus and no one could ever have a picture of THE CHRIST!

Thus this awakening is imperative: SH 230 But if sickness and sin are illusions, the awakening from this mortal dream, or illusion, will bring us into health, holiness, and immortality. This awakening is the forever coming of Christ, the advanced appearing of Truth, which casts out error and heals the sick. This is the salvation which comes through God, the divine Principle, Love, as demonstrated by Jesus.

Thank God for His revelation, as to what Christ is and its presence here now and everywhere! Thank God for Christian Science.

Thank you for this post, the distinction between Jesus, “wearing in part a human form … the mediator between Spirit and the flesh, between Truth and error” and the Christ truth that he demonstrated, and which Mrs.Eddy explained to us. Yet one can very much appreciate Jesus’s Christly qualities of unworldliness (“The Son of Man hath no place to lay his head.”) and humility.
