The might of moral law

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

I never fail to stand in awe regarding the story of the Israelites crossing the red sea. The Bible states that God caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind. Obviously it was not the brute force of the wind that did it, otherwise the strength of the wind would have picked up the Israelites and blown them back to Egypt. And the description of the water was that it was a wall on either side. What could have held the water up so as to form two walls? The definition of wind from the lesson is so helpful which says ”That which indicates the might of omnipotence and the movements of God’s spiritual government, encompassing all things.” There is a moral law that is superior to any so-called physical law, and the so-called universal law of gravitation, which would have held the sea flat, is not so universal as it is claimed. There is a moral law which can break through all the inertia, resistance, and negativity of mortal mind and can open a pathway to good. This law can and does work for each one.

That unseen force, moral law or power is the supreme spiritual force that keeps all under God’s infinite perfect control!I like to think that this force or power is ever operating and has all being, all of creation under the laws of perfection, completeness, harmony and love.
