"The Receptive Heart"

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

I am so grateful for the Testimony Meeting last night. Thank you, Fairlie for the beautiful readings on “The Receptive Heart.” I realized how precious our meetings are to me. It meant so much that despite the weather, we were able to overcome seeming obstacles and come together to give thanks and glorify God. Material elements do not alter God’s work. This morning, we too have lots of snow here in Massachusetts. It was invigorating to go out in the beautiful blanket of snow and shovel the sidewalk. I enjoyed the exercise and fresh air. I joyously thanked the snowplow driver who was all smiles and so helpful. My husband gave him a bit extra for his good work. Everything is cleared now and we can go on with our day. Who says there is too much snow? Not me. If we take each experience, and see God in it and express God to others we experience so much fun, not drudgery. Life is always good! We think the normal, comfortable, usual day by day activities define what Life is or should be. But, who says that? This is a human view. Fairlie opened last night with Proverbs 3:5, ” Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Life is defined and regulated by God and not altered by human opinions. God is everywhere, all the time. He pours out blessing to all, in all situations and I can see it! I am so grateful to the Plainfield Christian Science Church, Independent and all participants who make the Testimony meetings possible.
