The Single Eye

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

In our “Weekly Watch” it talks about keeping our eye on Cause not on effect and that is exactly what Hannah did in I Samuel. Her total devotion to God was evident when she withstood taunting about being childless without finding fault in her tormentor. Also, after her prayer was answered with the birth of Samuel she delivered him to God at the temple to assist Eli, and her song/prayer was to God (Cause) without elaborating on Samuel(effect). Her prayer was profound in her adoration of our One True God; His glorious triumphs, His awesome power, and His unsearchable wisdom. I Samuel 2:1-10. This is such a wonderful lesson for me. No matter what… turn to Cause and avoid examining effect.
Thank you Lesson writer and the Bible Study today.
