wait on the Lord

The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

    This subject has probably been pretty well covered in past Bible studies and Roundtables, that wait here doesn’t mean sit around and do nothing, but today it occurred to me that the “wait on the Lord” could be compared to wait on a customer, serve him. The Bible verse certainly doesn’t say wait for the Lord. This helps me because I’m working towards seeing that I myself understand the meaning of passages and am not just taking someone else’s interpretation, no matter how reliable the source.
