The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you for this post. Anyone who has been awakened and freed from a sin has felt that grace, “the free unmerited love and favor of God.” And like the Golden Text this week where Paul says, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain.”(I Corinthians 15:10) So whether a friend, a practitioner, a watcher like Ezekiel, or Jesus rebuking the Pharisees, has warned us of the error of our ways or our own suffering has done so, it is important to not let that awakening be in vain, but to stop sinning and be what God made us, his perfect, obedient child, “and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness and the end everlasting life.” (RR Romans 6:22) Thank you for this lesson!

Thank you for this wonderful post. So good for any of us who have any issues with false self concepts.

Thank you for this post. Loved the list of “practical tools to help us keep ‘moving on’ the straight and narrow path.” A good list to keep handy. Only one or two things I can think of to add is to be joyful and laugh at error’s ridiculous lies (as a Plainfield practitioner has had to remind me to do more than once).

This week’s Golden Text, “Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord” Zechariah 2: 13 has stood out to me all week. Gradually, while working with this, it became Be silent, mortal mind, before the Lord. And this morning, realized that once mortal mind is silent then it is possible to “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalms 46: 10) When I looked up Psalm 46, I realized that it could have easily been referring to a large storm (mortal mind raging) like a hurricane. In this week’s lesson, Jesus “arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.” And so can I, it is just another false idol.
Thank you for this lesson, and to the lesson writers, and for all of this week’s posts.

Many thanks for the beautiful Christmas Eve service. Really loved the bells!!! The music, singing, and readings bring to mind “the beauty of holiness.” The joy, love, and reverence for this Holy Day shines forth with “Peace on Earth” and “Goodwill to man.”

Thank you for this post. In the past when reading this passage I had wondered why Godliness was closer to the end. Now I get it. Spirituality isn’t an end unto itself but rather is a step to becoming more loving in the truest sense of the word.

Thank for these two posts on meekness. They are very helpful. Most definitely not “mushy”.

Thank you for this post. This is the first time I really understood that the “ten horns” had anything to with the Ten Commandments, and the material erroneous belief that they could “be broken.” And for “the more I strive to obey the Ten Commandments, the more God’s Allness becomes real and the more likely I will realize evil’s unreality or lies and overcome its many forms” that really shows how important it is to obey them! So grateful for this lesson and for the lesson writer and for all we are taught in this church.

    Genesis 4 :6 & 7
“6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”

These two verses have caught my attention all week. God is telling Cain he doesn’t need to be angry or discouraged. If sin is why your gift is not accepted then you have the God-given ability and dominion to get rid of it. It’s not personal. It’s just error.
In Ellicott’s Commentary for English readers, he translates it as, “if thou doest not well, sin lieth (croucheth as a beast of prey) at the door, and its desire is to thee, to make thee its victim; but thou shalt rule over it, and overcome the temptation.”

Thank you lesson writer. Great lesson.
