The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thank you for this post, and thanks to our Plainfield Church for this very important and timely message. The theme “Biblical Basis of Government” is in line with the powerful Watch Booklet on “True Government’ that has been provided to us for study and prayer. I am very grateful for everything I am learning here at Plainfield!!

I SO agree. Many thanks to Bruce, Jared, Jon, and Faith for this timely, holy and beautiful song of prayer. It brought more than a tear and I have listened to it again and again. It’s a prayer in song for individual and collective meditation.

Thank you for your post. I too loved the words of David as he prayed for his son, so deeply loving, touching, and with deep humility knowing his oneness with his heavenly Father. Many thanks to the lesson writers for these holy and truly inspiring Lesson Sermons. For all that Plainfield Church offers, I am deeply grateful. With much love to all, thank you.

Thank you for your post. We truly have the gift of God in Christian Science. I am reminded of a very recent Unity Watch that gave us an excerpt from Mrs. Eddy in ‘Miscellany’ and which has filled by thought since – it goes as follows: “Christian Science is a divine largess, a gift of God — understood by and divinely natural to him who sits at the feet of Jesus clothed in truth, who is putting off the hypothesis of matter because he is conscious of the allness of God — ‘looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.’”

Thank you for this timely post.

I was reminded of something I read in “Memoirs of Mary Baker Eddy”, by Adam Dickey. In the chapter “General Quarters at Home” is a statement by Mrs. Eddy which I would like to share:- “A Christian Scientist has no business attempting to control or govern the weather any more than he has a right to attempt to control or govern sickness, but he does know, and must know, that God governs the weather and no other influence can be brought to bear upon it. When we destroy mortal mind’s belief that it is a creator, and that it produces all sorts of weather, good as well as bad, we shall then realize God’s perfect weather and be the recipients of His bounty in that respect. God’s weather is always right.”

Thank you, Plainfield, for the amazing website that offers so much for our learning and application of the laws of Christian Science.

We ‘cling steadfastly to God and His idea’ and we ‘allow nothing but His likeness to abide in [our] thought’ and we ‘let neither fear nor doubt overshadow [our] clear sense and calm trust’ in His omnipresence, and keep remembering that God did not ever give us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Thank you JC. And not to be forgotten are Mrs. Eddy’s thoughts on the Sermon on the Mount, where she states that “the Sermon on the Mount, read each Sunday without comment and obeyed throughout the week, would be enough for Christian practice.”

Thank you for your post. I too am very grateful for the insightful discussion into the ‘jezebel spirit’. These Bible studies on Revelation are very helpful in gaining a clear understanding of the truths revealed in this important Book of Revelation, and I am so grateful for these priceless sessions at Plainfield.
