The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

Thanks. “No room for anything else.” God can only bless. From Genesis 1, God could only make what is like Himself (Good). This makes sense. Genesis 2 and 3 does not make sense especially for scientific Christianity where truth must produce like itself.” God, Truth could not create anything cursed to slave upon the earth. Behold, our great danger is to not try the spirits and believe a lie about ourselves and others.

Thank you Jeremy. I will spend time reading this book. Mrs. Eddy gave us so many types of instruction to walk the “footsteps of Truth”. If you read S&H p 113:26-32, she even says to use mathematical logic to help a student. The rule of inversion of statement A and statement B. If not A and B is true, the not B and A is true.

    Susan and JC,
Thanks for your honest self examination. From the lesson, I now realize that the three Hebrew captives confidently served God, the Lord of Hosts, long before the banishment to the furnace. Their lives had been to overturn the pagan beliefs since their capture. This culminated in such a wonderful demonstration and healing for the kingdom. Our lives should be to overturn any lies we face daily then we will have a consciousness of love that cannot be burned.

    Thank you Joanne,
The article by Kimball is such a invigorating treatment. Watch, watch, watch. Stay alert. Be a light. Be a help. Be a healer regularly, even daily.
The lesson was a wonderful push. I needed the push. This is Love’s work and besides God others will love us too. It is wonderful.

Thank you Joanne. The mountains, hills and trees celebrating the goodness and possibilities of God’s highest idea, man, is so uplifting. Man viewed physically appears to be small and inferior to these grand ideas, but God declares the opposite. We must always remember this. Man, conscious possibly through prayer and living, is a grand, humble, reverent, effective and sovereign idea. Science and Health with key to the Scriptures makes this so much clearer.

Parthens, thank you very much for your submission above. I especially appreciate “It is my assignment to make the promises of the Word of God so prominent, so supreme in my consciousness that the roar of “the plea of mortal mind” becomes but a faint squeak. ”

Thanks. I appreciate the evolution of the the term “prophet” you provided. It is natural and normal for progressing students of Christian Science to reach the status of “prophet”. An earlier status is “soul-inspired”. Each student can immediately become soul-inspired. They can maintain this status through the same qualities required of a “prophet”. We should be able to recognize how and when we ” heard the voice of Truth, and talked with God as consciously as man talks with man.” (S&H: 308:14-15). If we cannot remember such events, it is an easy thing to start.

Thank all of you for this post and responses. I see how our merciful and loving God healed the distress of David with the truth, i.e.-“truth shall make you free..”- Holy Bible. In prayer David knew, he and his people were the blessed of God and not victims. “Truth is affirmative.” -S&H. Truth makes a positive impression. Truth improves every condition. Tough love, principled love, directed David in the what to do, and the how to gain the victory. The result was wonderful.

Thanks Sharon. I now realize that trials are different from everyday living of Christian Science with prayer, watching and working with our already proven understanding. Trials require us to take a step higher, closer to God and sometimes to give up some cherished false belief.

Yes, Jeremy. It is so freeing to have a reason and evidence to not expect sin, sickness and death. Instead, we now can say “NO” to them and work for what God has for all, (i.e., holiness, health and harmony) as God instructs, as Christian Science teaches, as answered prayer directs.
