The Bulletin Board is for gratitude for Christian Science and the Church, as well as timely excerpts from the Bible, the works of Mrs. Eddy, and the early workers that help and encourage. We are very grateful for all posts that conform to these guidelines, but will edit or remove anything that the Practitioners feel is not in complete accord with pure Christian Science or in any way disrespectful of it.

We also ask that you keep your postings as concise as possible. If you quote the Bible, please use The King James Version, as this is what Mrs. Eddy used. Thank you!

What a great lesson. I too was struck with “the kingdom of God is within you” S&H p. 573. “God the divine Principle of harmony, is ever with men” S&H p. 573 also touched my heart. God is with us everywhere, every moment. Every time I saw the title of the lesson, I would sing to myself from hymn 206, the end of the second verse, “Behold reality.”

Anything worth having is worth working for, including atonement, being reconciled to God, attuning to Christ. This is not work but a blessing. No one can do it for us, HOW WONDERFUL! With God all things are possible! Thank God!

Thank you, Parthens, for this example of love. When you give with your heart, you receive only good! You give up nothing! This is principle, and God is in the middle of it all.

Reading this immediately brought to mind the statement in Science and Health 261:4 “Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts.” Go to God only for everything and at every moment and be blessed.

I thank God that Christian Science teaches us that trials are blessings. “Trials are proofs of God’s care.” S&H How great to grow stronger and closer to God. Anything worth having is worth working for, and there’s nothing greater than working for God!

Thank you for this topic. I’m so grateful for all that I’m learning in this church about seeing the Christ in every man–not just someone living next door: it includes the world. The Webster’s 1828 Dictionary includes in the definition of neighbor: “One of the human race; any one that needs our help, or to whom we have an opportunity of doing good. Luke x” Also, “a country that is near.” No one is left out. What could be greater? As you said, “practicing our greatest command.”

Thank you for these posts. Understanding Truth does come from working individually, in unity. That’s a powerhouse, thank God!

In trusting her spiritual sense, Abigail had no concern about what her family (husband) may think of her actions as she was only following what she knew God was directing her to do. “And God made man free.” S&H 227:16 How great!

What a wonderful promise for all, and it is for now. Along with this “God has created man in His own image and after His likeness” SH 344 : 7(God)-8 meant so much to me. We are so blessed. What a loving God!

We must be watching our thoughts every moment. One thing I have been relying on is checking my thoughts with “Is that from God?” If it’s not good, it isn’t from God and replace it with what is true about me as God’s reflection. As Mrs. Eddy says, it must be done hourly, daily, as often as needed.

This statement on 390:9-11 really struck me as well. This is God’s plan–His compelling plan for us all. Seeking God with our whole heart and soul will fill us with the joys of Soul.

Thank you for the word “drudgery”. Not a drudgery came to me when I read in the Responsive Reading Psalm 100:2, “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” What could be more rewarding to each of us and mankind?

How important to be always checking our motives—for self or for God. It determines the outcome of everything we do, as wonderfully referred to in this lesson. “Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action.” (S&H) “The purpose and motive to live aright can be gained now.” (S&H) “Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way.” (S&H) Ask God. Follow His commands. All are blessed.
